Downtown Mobile Elopement
First, I need to start off by saying Jezyiah & AJ were the absolute sweetest couple and they have the sweetest love story!
They are high school sweethearts and have been together for 7 years. They both moved from Florida to Mobile for college where they graduated from South Alabama together. A year later and they currently have their first child on the way! I was truly honored to capture this special day for them.
The day started off at Washington Square in downtown Mobile for the ceremony. They had one of their closest friends officiate as they shared their own vows. It was a very intimate ceremony with no guests- besides all of their closest friends and family watching over zoom! I thought that was such a nice way to have the intimacy of a small ceremony and still be able to share this memory with loved ones.
After that, we headed down to the Mobile Presbyterian Church a few blocks over for portraits! I drove by this church a few days prior and just knew it would be the perfect spot for photos. The white columns, the stairs, and the marbled flooring- all so beautiful!
Then, we walked over to the Battlehouse hotel, one of my absolute favorite locations for sessions. It is truly a Mobile gem. The architecture of this hotel is absolutely stunning- and it makes for the most timeless and classy pictures.
I mean this elevator shot! Are you kidding?? Am I shooting an elopement or a magazine cover?
Once we ran around the hotel for a bit, we headed downstairs to find the notary for their marriage license. They signed all the papers and made it official!
The walk back to the car turned out to be my favorite shots of the day! Tip for all photographers: never stop shooting!! If I had put my camera away, I wouldn’t have got these candid moments of them celebrating in the street! It is one of my absolute favorite pictures, simply because it was a genuine candid moment filled with so much joy and love.
Elopements can be so simple, yet so beautiful. It is truly one of my favorite things to shoot.
